Douglas
Johnson, MD, PhD
Dr. Johnson has been treating patients,
providing operative and non-operative neurosurgical
care for nearly two decades. In January
2000, he founded DuPage Neurosurgery, S.C.,
in response to needs he identified in the
treatment of neurosurgical patients. He
completed his neurosurgical residency at
the University of Chicago, is board certified
in neurological surgery and earned a PhD
in pharmacology. He has been in neurosurgical
practice in DuPage County and a Clinical
Associate at the University of Chicago since
1992. Currently, Dr. Johnson is a Medical
Director of Neurospine Services at Central
DuPage Hospital and a neurosurgery consultant
for Wheaton College. He is a Lieutenant
Commander with the United States Marine
Reserve as a General Medical Officer and
a member of the AOA, the National Medical
Honor Society; he is also an endurance athlete.

Laura
Guzman, NP, CNRN
Laura Guzman is a co-founder and the Executive
Director of DuPage Neurosurgery, S.C. Her
treatment philosophy enhances the personal
approach to caring for patients with problems
associated with the nervous system. Ms.
Guzman plays an integral role in patient
care, providing diagnosis, treatment, and
education of neurosurgical disorders. She
is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the Honor
Society of Nursing. She holds a Master's
of Science degree in nursing and is a Nurse
Practitioner specializing in neuroscience.
Ms. Guzman is an accomplished triathlete
and an avid runner.
